Vinegar isn’t only for fish & chips! You can use vinegar for all kinds of things in and around the house.
Unblock drains
Pour half a cup of baking soda followed by a cup of vinegar into the drain. When the foaming subsides, flush with hot tap water.
Clean windows
Make your own window cleaner by mixing two tablespoon with white vinegar with a litre of water in a spray bottle.
Soften towels
When towels start to feel stiff, toss them into your washing machine with ½ cup of white vinegar — and no detergent. This will help remove detergent residue and minerals that make them feel scratchy.
Freshen your fridge
Mix one part vinegar with one part water, and wipe down the inside and shelves of your fridge with the mixture.
Flower power
Extend the life of your flowers by adding two tablespoons of white vinegar and two tablespoons of sugar to the water.
