Affordable and effective around the household, bicarbonate of soda is a great alternative to expensive cleaning products. It’s non-toxic and the result will leave you amazed!

- Cleaning your iron will be a breeze. Just unplug your iron and make sure it has cooled down. Make a paste using bicarbonate of soda and water, then scrub a little at the bottom of the iron. For stubborn areas, use a toothbrush to scrub off any stains. Then wipe clean with a damp cloth.
- Add two heaped teaspoons of bicarbonate of soda to your dishwater when you hand wash your dishes.
- Add ½ cup of bicarbonate of soda to the rinse cycle for fresher sheets and towels.
Hair and beauty
- Treat tired feet with a mixture of bicarbonate of soda mixed with olive oil and apply to your dry feet for five minutes. Rinse and then dry your feet with a towel. Alternatively, soak your feet in a bowl of hot water with four tablespoons of bicarbonate of soda to soften hard, dry skin.
- Remove the build up of styling products on your hair by adding a little bicarbonate of soda to your shampoo.
- Soak your oral appliances, like retainers and dentures, in a solution of two teaspoons of baking soda in a glass or small bowl of water.
