Your skin is the largest organ of your body. Among its many jobs, it forms a barrier that protects your body from harmful things, such as the sun’s rays, cold temperatures, as well as germs and toxic substances. So considering how hard your skin works every day, it’s super important that you give it the daily TLC it deserves.
Wash
It is vital to wash your body every day with a washcloth as opposed to a loofah. Washcloths are washed and get to dry in the sun and are gentler than loofahs. Loofahs are breeding grounds for bacteria. They’re also less gentle on skin, so if you have any sort of allergy or skin condition, rather avoid them.
Exfoliating
Exfoliating your body once a week or once every two weeks is extremely good for your skin. There are a lot of awesome products on the market. But it’s easy and just as effective to make your own body scrub. Just mix ½ cup sugar with ¼ cup of milk. Rub the scrub all over your body and then wash and rinse as usual.
Rinsing
Rinsing after a wash is just as important as cleansing. If you don’t rinse, you’re just moving the dirt around and into your skin! Cleaning products will also build up on your skin and can cause skin irritations and stickiness.
Moisturising
Use a lightweight lotion that absorbs well into the skin, this also assists with skin elasticity and improves appearance. The secret to lock in the maximum amount of moisture is by applying your lotion while your skin is still damp. Also remember, hot water and staying in water too long dry out your skin.
