We know that being a busy mom often means you’re juggling more than one task at a time – with your personal style last on the list. Making sure your family has only the best is always at the top of your list and you don’t often have time for yourself.
We have three great tips from stylists to help you look chic, casual, comfortable and professional – without spending hours getting ready.
1. Build with basics
Every wardrobe should have go-to basics that you can always rely on. This is called a ‘capsule wardrobe’ and consists of pieces that look good on you and are versatile enough to go with each other as well. Pieces such as a great fitting pair of jeans, a crisp white shirt and of course a formal blazer or denim jacket that can be layered over knits and dresses. Think about longevity (classic cuts, colours and styles that won’t go out of fashion), versatility and practical looks.
2. Carefully choose your prints and colour palette
When choosing your capsule wardrobe, keep your colour palette basic. Think about colours that will complement each other. If you love wearing prints, then stick to neutral colours for your basic items so that you can easily mix and match. Tunics offer style and comfort. Wear them as is with leggings or pair them with jeans and you are ready for a playdate at the park or lunch with family. For a more formal event, pair it with heels and wrap a belt around the waist for a more fitted silhouette.
3. Finish off with accessories
Smart accessorising can spruce up even the most basic outfit. These are also called ‘completer pieces’. Your accessories can take your outfit up a level in an instant. Pick one statement accessory that will elevate your outfit without overwhelming it. Our go-to accessory is a bag in a bold colour. That pop of colour can brighten up even the dullest outfit and will get you out the door in a minute, looking super-stylish!
