Let us celebrate love in all its forms. Celebrate love for our family, friends and of course our partners. Perhaps more importantly, let us not forget about ourselves! Let’s approach life with an attitude of self-love that overflows to loving everybody and everything around us.

1. Treat yourself with beautiful underwear. Hit the stores to get gorgeous lingerie and pyjamas.
2. Go on a self-care date. Run a long bath and add some Johnsons’ Baby Oil -your skin will thank you for it. Finish off the home spa experience by teaching yourself how to give the best manicure and pedicure.
3. Exercise. Nobody has ever said, “I regret that work-out.” Besides the physical benefits, exercising releases a chemical in your body called dopamine, which is literally the happy chemical in your brain. Go for a walk/run or jump rope and start feeling happy.

5. Clean your room/area. How you treat your surroundings reflects how things are going in your life. If you hate cleaning, set a 20-minute timer on your phone of uninterrupted cleaning time daily.
6. Set life goals and a plan to achieve them. Nothing proves self-love quite like working towards achieving those things that have been a dream for far too long. Lay the bricks towards getting your matric, being more active in your community and whatever dreams or ambitions you have.
